50 Barrett stolen

So I take it if someone breaks into my home and steals my guns I am a dumba$$ also????? According to the article, the guns were in the trunk, not left out in plain sight. I would have to agree with oyu on the dumba$$ remark had he left the guns in plain view... The sad fact is that we are once again blaming the victim for the crime. How was this guy supposed to know that his car would be stolen????? I am truly disgusted by the fact that we so eagerly allow criminals to dictate to us how we live our lives and how rapidly we turn on each other rather than the criminals. I guess it is much simpler to blame the victim who is available rather than the punk a$$ @*&*^%&%$^*&*. Taking the easy road sure has helped our society hasnt it???

Take it easy guys. Waterdog expressed his opinion, others expressed theirs. Accept or dismiss the opinion, your choice...don't start flaming.

I'd bet that at least 75% of our "valuble goods" spent some time in the car, without our attendence, prior to getting them "safely" home. Unless of course we have a Star Trek type matter transporter ;)

My point, is that we must be vigilant in our
daily lives when it comes to our rights.

The general public, percieves us gun owners as a threat.

Even though this person, was within his rights to own, use and store this weapon in his vehicle, the theft and media attention has left a negative impression about gunowners in the general public eyes.

If we are lucky, the thief will be caught and the weapon recovered.

If not, and they commit a horrific crime, it
will further erode our image in the publics eyes.

And I sure as hell don't need the negative vibes.

Please don't turn me into the ATF but I . . . I . . . left my apartment and there are guns there with no one to watch over them!!! I had to, really, as I had to work!! Oh, will you all forgive me?! :(

Waterdog,

ANYTHING we do as gun owners makes us look bad. It doesn't matter how vigilant we are.

Accidents happen. Thefts happen. Bad things happen.

What really matters is how the media puts the spin on the happening. And as we have come to understand, the media in general, does not like us!

I refuse to crawl into a corner and make no movement in fear of creating a bad image. So I make a mistake and my fellow gunnies crucify me? It's such a shame that we are so easily divided because we fear the "image" that we portray just by being ourselves.
