I dont care what anyone says, Chevys are better. Uh that's another topic. I mean 10 MM is the best

:mad:Ford and .357mag's.:D

COSteve

Man either your a small guy, or that's a huge gun. LOL looks like a cartoon gun on your side, kind of like a S&W X-frame.

Ford and a 50 BMG. :D

But I also like the 357, when at the range my GP100 got a lot of attention with Buffalo bore.

All 3 are great. But i carry .45acp. Why do you ask? Because i dont need a 185-200 grain bullet moving 1000+fps. my .451 diameter semi wad cutter at lose to 900fps is crushing enough to the heart or lungs. and i got 8 +1. seems a little over kill to me for the other 2.

A 2" expanding broad head - in my limited experience - has better "stopping" power than a .357, so I assume it must at least match a .45, or a 10mm. Follow ups are going to be an issue..... :)

45 vs 357 vs 45

Ive always thought a 357 and a 10mm were preity much the same round, as far as power goes. 1 being a revolver round, the other being a semi round ? So, im thinking both are a tie. Am I wrong in this thinking ?

No, you are not wrong. I believe the 357 has a little edge when it comes to penetration and at long range but otherwise it is revolver or auto, IMO.

Get a .41 mag and end the argument.

41 Magnum - 265 gr. L.W.N. (1,350 fps/M.E. 1,072 ft. lbs.) ----ouch!

All three listed will do the job....I carry a .357 mag or .45 .acp. and don't a see/feel/believe difference between one or the other.

Also carry a .380 acp and feel just as safe with that.

Sorry, but it's not available in an autoloader of conventional size and weight for EDC. Rare-to-find .41mag Deagles don't qualify either due to their pants-drooping weight, same as the Wildeys and AutoMags from yesteryear.

But the 10mm does ...

Purely Way2Ghey ...

I have taken deer with the 357mag and the 10mm... Both shots in the lungs. No contest, the 10mm dumped the deed a lot faster than the 357mag. The deer I shot with the 158jhp ran over 1/2 mile before expiring. The deer shot with a 155jhp ran about 20 yards and went down. I would put the 357mag closer to a 40s&w and even then the larger diameter bullet has a advantage all things being equal

I'm taking this as self-defense from a humanoid.
I cannot take overpenetration out of the argument. I would want my SD bullet to expend all of it's energy into the target and not put others in jeopardy beyond. I would also want it to expand to a fairly large size in the process. For this, I have counted on a good self-defense 230 gr load of .45 ACP for a good many years. No need to change my opinion now, though I love my 10mms as well.

I shot a hog and destroyed both lungs, major arteries, broke his shoulder and left an exit wound you could stick your head in. He went more than 20 yds. Does that mean the 10mm is more effective than a hot 45-70? I have also dropped deer in their tracks with a 22-250. It must be much better.

There was also a guy who lived over 4 minutes after taking a full mag of 40 to the chest while others were quickly done in by a single 22 round. I guess the 40 is junk and the 22 is a far superior stopper?

(shakes head)
