.44 Bulldog: First Impressions

Well it appears my shipment of .44 special ammo is stuck in the mail somewheres, oh bother!

But when I get it, boy is this bulldog gonna BARK!!! :D

I've got two and one got the royal treatment. Highly recommend the Pachmayr grips.

the newer .44 spl guns seemed to be timed correctly and stay that way, the older ones need a good gunsmith to time them properly.

Hey gang! Well I got my wood grips today from member lee n. field:

They are fantastic!! They feel great in the hand, and really looks great with the stainless steel. I'm still waiting on my shipment of .44 special ammo from LAX, on the UPS website it says it's scheduled to arrive this coming Tuesday.

Stay tuned for a full range report sometime next week!!! :D

I know what you mean about the old Bulldog wood grips. Like you, I also loved the way they look! While the Pachymar compacts, and OE rubber grips do a nice job softening the felt recoil on extended range sessions, especially with heavy loads, the wood grips are a nice compromise when it comes to comfort and concealability. Mine wears the wood grips most of the time. Now throw on a set of them itty bitty wood grips and the Dog disappears in an IWB, even when wearing just a thin, close fitting, tee shirt. ;)

Take care,

OOOHHH!!!! NICE!!!! I like those skinnier wood grips. I bet they'd look awesome paired with a Tyler-T grip adapter. Heck... well I'm off to ebay!! :D

I tried my original 3" Bridgeport made Bulldog with its factory woods grips.... I did not like them. they look nice but they are too slick for me and the gun moved around in my hand and made the recoil unpleasant.

the compact pachmayrs like pictured above made all the difference.
