HK VP 40

Just bought this. Absolutely incredible. One hell of a firearm. Deadly accurate. Fits like glove. Site picture most excellent. I feel GOOD with this. Thank You. HK

I currently have 2 40s, and I used to have a 3rd. My current guns are a Kahr CW40 and a Glock 22, and I used to have a 40 Hi-Power. Each one fills a different role; the Kahr is an awesome concealed carry pistol, the Glock is a great full-size, and the BHP was, well, a sweet BHP. Probably the same role as the Glock, but much heavier.

Really depends on what you're looking for. I'll get some shooting in tomorrow, and I only brought the Kahr along to shoot. It's snappy for sure, but still controllable.

I too, have several .40's: Glock 23, Browning Hi-Power, Colt 1911A1 Gold Cup Elite, and a Sig 226. All are good, accurate auto's. For defensive use, CC, I'd pick the Glock or the Sig...the choice made on familiarity with the operating system.

As far as accuracy is concerned, the Sig is better than the Glock but both are equally reliable in the examples I own. For sheer fun combined with superb accuracy, the Browning is on top. And its iconic beauty just can't be beat. The Colt, while a well built 1911, just doesn't have the accuracy that the Browning possesses...and isn't nearly as reliable either.

But if you want a good, reliable truck/carry gun that you won't hang yourself if it gets a nick or two, buy the Glock and enjoy knocking about with it.
