3913 Lady Smith

I carried one for about a year around 1994. Someone had done an action job on it before I got it. The trigger in both DA and SA was very nice. I wish I had not traded it off

Very good guns. I prefer my SIG 239. It's a bit more accurate. But the 3913 is a classic as far as I am concerned.

I only have one and its a 3914 Ladysmith that has been well loved.

I don't understand why the company won't re-issue these guns. They were fantastic and I like them so much more than the Shield....

No money in them. The tooling is gone and you can make M&Ps out of polymer and well them cheaper and make more $$$$.

The tooling is gone...
When the similar 908 and 908S were discontinued ca. 2011 IIRC, it was reported on the S&W Forum that the tooling was being mothballed in Houlton for future LE special orders.

Of course, to paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, don't believe everything you read on the Internet. ;)

Even if the tooling is still around there are no LEO special orders coming so it is effectively the same. No one uses these pistols on a large scale anymore and no one is going to buy them in large quantities.

If the tooling is offline never to return that = gone IMHO. Just like the Gen 3 smiths.

There is ZERO $$$ to be made on these guns for S&W. They make more money selling less M&Ps than they could ever make bringing back the Gen 3s which is why they went away in the first place and why S&W does not support them in anyway now. Glock killed the economics on a lot of metal guns.
