Lucky, as in you'll need LUCK when using a mouse caliber to stop a BAD GUY (as in someone intent on doing you bodily harm). By mouse caliber, I'm talking 32, 22, 25, etc.

I don't promote anyone killing anyone, kinda nasty thing to say I might add.

Also, remember the Germans success with the 9x19 was in a submachinegun platform. Not a pistol. 3-5+ hits with a 9mm will definately ruin your day.

I wouldn't say any handgun round is not effective. Some may not be as effective as another, but that's about it. Use whatever you are comfortable with and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. A 22 in hand is better than a 45 left at home!
