I read several references to the older, used, Charter Arms snubs, but maybe your referring to the new 38 snub that Charter Arms just re-introduced. I like Charter Arms guns, my dad owns a couple of bulldogs, but the newer one, like the old ones, is not rated for +P I don't think. If it's durability your looking for than I would probably go for one of the Titanium frame guns, or, like has been mentioned numerous times, a pre-sellout S&W model 36, or 60. I had the 36 awhile back and it was an excellent little pistol, but was too heavy, by my viewpoint, to meet the requirements of a pocket or ankle carry piece. Still, for strong side carry it was very easy to carry and this is the option I went with most often. I've looked at the Taurus model 85 UltraLite and I like the looks and feel of this pistol and think it will be the next 38 snub I buy. If you don't want to shoot +P's in it you can always use the 110 grain Federal Personal Defense loads that are not +P, supposedly these have a pretty fair reputation for stopping power and are specially designed for the 2" snubs.
