.357 snap caps in a .38 spcl?

Tipoc is dead on IMO. I debated between .38 and .357 A-Zooms and the deciding factor for me was that .357 "load" quite differently when using a speed loader or strip (that slightly tighter grip clearance does make a difference!). So I bought the .357 caps since I wanted to become proficient in loading my carry ammo.

EDIT: BTW, the .357 A-Zoom caps will not work in a .38, since the "brass" section of the cap is longer, the .357 snap caps will stick out the back of the cylinder about a sixteenth of an inch and you won't be able to close it. Filing down the bullet end is irrelevant.

There's a difference between a "snap cap" and a "feeding dummy".

A snap cap allows you to dry fire without damaging the gun. Most snap caps will fit the chamber of either 38 spl or 357 because they are shorter than real cartridges in either chambering.

Feeding dummies have to be dimensionally correct and weigh a realistic amount, so 38 and 357 dummies would be different.

Sometimes you can find both functions in one device.

Snap caps are not the same as dummy or training rounds. Armsport are junk. AZOOMS were built for serious practice and training - they are worth the few extra dollars instead of replacing those plastic ones every other week
