357 semi not a sig rd

...9mm largo [with] some kind of "moon clips"... you could carry a Star or Astra semiautomatic and 357 revolver that used the same ammo.
Talk about an answer to a question absolutely no one is asking!

Desert Eagles are just friggin' enormous. Weighs a tick over 3 pounds empty. $1,363.72 at Buds. You need hands like a monkey for a DE. Quite pleasant to shoot though.

Desert Eagles are huge. And heavier than you think, 4.25lbs EMPTY. (a bit more than a tick over 3lbs :D)

I wear a size 9 glove, and manage well enough. You don't need hands like a monkey, but if you have hooves instead of hands, you will have issues.:D:rolleyes:

The Grizzly was available in several calibers including .357mag, .50AE, .45 WinMag, 9mm WinMag, and probably a couple of others that don't come to mind right now. But, like the Coonan, it's much larger than a normal 1911.

Other calibers the Grizzly came in were .44 Rem Mag (the standard revolver round) and .357 GWM (Grizzly Win mag), a .45 Win mag case necked down to .357.

Again, I will disagree that the Coonan (or at least the Model A that I have) is "much larger" than a normal 1911A1. I have measured them. My Coonan is 1/4" longer, 1/4" taller, and 1/4" wider than the standard Colt Government model 1911A1. TO me, that is NOT "much larger".

The Grizzly is considerably larger than the Coonan, and the Desert Eagle is larger than the Grizzly. And yes, I have one of each, and have compared them in reality, not just from book specs.

Oysterboy nailed it as far as a super vel compact handcannon. I'm not much for most of the odd ball special rounds but the 9x25 dillon has tempted me a few times.

I got my G29 a few months ago and I love it. I got the 40sw conversion and the extended 10mm barrels for it.

My next one is the 9x25 Dillon ported barrel. :p

I've thought of the 357sig but not on the 10mm pistol are they any advantage. 357sig is good for upgrading the 40sw but for the 10mm the 9x25 Dillon is it.

I love a good derailing as much as the next guy but this thread now has very little to do with the OP's question.

im looking for a semi auto that shoots the same rd as my revolver

not a Coonan or a des eagle

And he points to .357Mag, not .357Sig.

As far as I know, the only one ever made that isn't a Coonan or a Desert Eagle is the long out of production LAR GRIZZLY.

The closest thing to a "duty size" is the Coonan, being only slightly larger than the standard 1911A1. If you are looking for a pocket, or compact size .357 magnum semiauto, there is none that I know of.

I have been racking my brain for something overlooked but have come up with nothing.

I love the Coonan but it is already limited to 7+1. Making an auto loader in .357 mag much smaller is probably not worth the trouble. The Coonan is pretty much a niche market specialty item without a lot of practical use, in my opinion. But other than chasing brass it is a heck of a lot of fun to shoot. :D

well kids I got banned so.....anyways what I was asking has been answered. there isn't a 357 mag semi auto that's not humongus.

basically I am trying to stay within specific calibers. I have many revolvers in 8 or 357. rifles as well so I just thought I might look for a semi to go with them. never found one so I asked.

I have seen the bond derringers that no one mentioned..heavy and 2 rds...nahhhh

so I went 9mm..i have a few of then and the capacity is high..17 in my full size carry..but it aint no j frame
