357 magnum cowboy pistol ?

The Lipsy flat top looks very good. When I asked about a 45 acp cylinder I meant a 45lc with 45 acp cylinder.

I know nothing first hand about these things, but I was curious and looking into them a while back, and one thing I remember concerns weight and balance.

Since the .357 has smaller holes in the cylinder and barrel it weighs more than a .45 with the same barrel length. I read more than once where people recommended to limit the barrel length to 4 5/8" or 4 3/4" with the .357 because of weight and balance.

My 45 Blackhawk convertible has the 7.5" barrel. The extra length helps me a lot with accuracy at longer ranges. Since it is just for range work and plinking, not for carrying around, I have been very pleased with the barrel length. I bought it brand-new from Bud's four or five years ago. The only thing I would do differently if i had a do-over is get a used one instead. They are very sturdy and the four i have bought used function very well.
