357 LCR range report

Jerry Miculek is your example? Seriously? We all know what he can do and it's impressive. But he's not human. I don't see much action like that at my range.

That is exactly my point.

A good drill is to draw and see how many COM hits you can make in 2 seconds from 7 yards. Then shave it to 1 second. You should be able to get four hits in under 2 seconds with that snubbie while moving to cover.

Stand and deliver went out of style in 1776.

A few posters have tip-toed around it, but five shots in five seconds on a sheet of paper at 7 yards on your best day leads one to ask what is your time and accuracy on your worst day?

You need some serious range time to get your speed and accuracy to improve, if you are motivated to do so.

Speed accuracy and power are all important. You have the power element, now you need to work on accuracy, and then speed.

What helped me improve my shooting (besides lots of rounds downrange) the most is a pact or equivalent timer. Keep a record of your practice sessions, and within a short while you should be able to cut those times at least in half.

Not Michulek or Munden times, but you aren't trying to run a sub 4 minute mile, either.

Thanks for the range report, JayHawk,

I do have to say that I own 2 LCRs, .38 and .357...and BOTH shoot to the point of aim. Not sure what the issue is with yours. Happy Shooting! :)
