30 Round 6.8 SPC?

Are there 30 round magazines available for 6.8 SPC that actually hold 30 rounds and feed/work reliably? I hear that the max magazine size for a 6.8 SPC is 25 rounds. Thanks for all replies in advance!

If they allow the rounds to feed reliably and they don't have any other issues then I don't really mind at all! Are they reliable?

I run PRIs and accept the lower capacity, but the reviews are good. I can't give any first hand info.

Thanks a bunch, though! Why do you prefer the hit to magazine capacity? Is the performance that much better with the longer OAL?

I wanted a 5 round for hunting, and PRI was the best option for that, so when I filled up my Midway cart, I stuck with PRI for all the mags. The reduced capacity didn't even cross my mind. PRI had/has good reviews, so that's what I went with.

Sorry it's not more profound... I sometimes do research and compare and contrast and weigh all the options... these mags weren't one of those times.

Barrett mags are good, but pricy. They limit OAL to about 2.27, which is fine if you don't reload, all commercial ammo will fit. They are also much bigger, about the same size as a 40 round 5.56 AR mag.

PRI fits a 2.30 OAL, which gives handloaders a few more options.

I use mostly C-Products 25 round because I got a deal on them about 4 years ago. The only mags that have consistently been a problem are the straight C-P 17 round (same size as the old 20 round 5.56 mags), and they even work good once you replace the follower with a Magpul. C-Products limit the OAL to 2.27

Ammo comes from Silver State, Barnes, Hornady, etc etc etc etc. Drop shipped to your door in bulk quantities, or hand loaded. Academy sells Remington green box which is large rifle fodder - but it shoots.

The major reason most 6.8 mags hold 25 rounds is that they are made on machinery and tooling for the standard length AR flat, but the rounds are larger diameter and take up more height.

Yeah, I like to call that stuff Remington's Revenge. They're sticking to SAMMI and that's their story.

The disappointing fact is that most ammo is SAMMI, not SPC II, and we're all to blame. We buy it. Exactly why I want to handload. Beats the potential shortages when the zombies get scared at election time.
