3 firearms, what would you choose?

Glock 22 : (insert sigh) not really a Glock fan but I can carry this and have multiple calibers with a barrel swap/mags

AR-15 : (insert second sigh) again not my first pick but the most versatile. Especially if upper swaps are "allowed".

Remington Versamax - shoots everything from 2.75" to 3.5" reliably.

Glock 21 many many conversions 10mm, 40 super, 400 corbon, 460 Rowland and a few others including .22 LR.

AR 15 with extra 6.8 upper

Mossy 500 in 12g

It's a good thing I don't only have to pick 3 tho!:p

Handgun: A Sig 210 in 9mm and .30 Luger with a .22 conversion kit.
Rifle: Remington 700 in .30-06
Shotgun: Remington model 670 in 12 gauge

3 guns

Oops sorry, I should read these more carefully. I don't know much about handguns. I really like the old west style so maybe a Ruger Vaquero .45. Don't really know much about it. Rifle is the 30-06, one from one of the custom shops would be pretty awesome. 45-70 lever action would be pretty sweet too, but not as functional for my purposes. Shotgun - good old reliable Mossberg 12 guage pump. If I get more into bird hunting maybe go Bereta semi-auto type deal 12 guage.

Glock 21 with 460 Rowland conversion kit.

AR-15 with 300 blackout coversion.

A 12 gauge prefer longer barrel, Brand not as important

Glock 19 Gen 4 with Trijicon HDs.

Daniel Defense M4 V1 with a 1-4 power optic.

Remington 870 Express Tactical with a pistol grip, adjustable stock, and light.

I'm going to just assume this isn't a survival scenario, since it was never stated, and it lets me say things aside from my Glock and AR.

My favorites out of the guns I own and the ones I'd most hope were still around after a fire or something:

Sig P229 in 40
FN49 in 8mm Mauser
Winchester M12 in 12 gauge

12 ga., 92fs, .17 hmr. Would like to have a larger cal rifle but can definitely get by with a .17. A .22 just doesn't perform as well for me out to 150 yards as a .17. Although ammo is a heck of a lot cheaper. Down here in east tx the biggest animal running around is a whitetail buck and they don't get all that big on this side of the state. .17 to the head would do the trick I think. My 92fs is as reliable a gun as I have ever handled. And I'm sure there isn't a person on here that wouldn't include a good 12 gauge.

Rife- Springfield M1A (Can hunt large game as well as be used for self defense at all ranges)

Shotgun- Mossberg 590A1 (Can hunt anything from small game, to medium sized, to large game with deer slugs, as well as be used for self defense)

Sig 229 in 9mm (Large enough to be a duty pistol, small enough to conceal if need be)

1) AR-15
2) Remington 870 pump
3) S&W 686 in .357

If I get a 4th it would be my Ruger Vaquero single 6 in 45LC. Love the gun. Steady and easy to shoot with minimal kick

O.K. If you had to choose 3 firearms, one handgun, one rifle and one shotgun, what would you choose?

For what?

If you are looking at covering the greatest range of possibilities, doing it with only 3 guns means there are some things you just cannot do with maximum efficiency.

From my personal collection, I would choose my Grandfather's 105year old Ithaca 12ga SxS (although its a tough call vs, my Winchester Model 12),

My M1A

and for a handgun, my favorite S&W Highway Patrolman .357 (6" barrel). (again, another tough call, vs the dozens of other handguns I have)

I'd REALLY like to have one more gun on the list, to better cover everything, a T/C Contender or Encore (and a dozen or so different caliber barrels).

Personally I never saw any sense in these kinds of questions, particularly when they are as open ended as what was asked. I play along, I just don't see the point. Same for questions like "if you could only have one...."

I already have more than one, more than three, so to me, these questions are moot.

Yep...so....this

I agree completely. The way I turn this around for myself could be the subject of another thread...."if you were to take an extended road trip in an RV/trailer...months on the road....what firearms would you bring?" I limit my answer to three. In reality there would be more...certainly a flintlock long gun, and a heavy pistol to supplement the .22. At least.
