3 firearms, what would you choose?

Specific brands? For three guns I would take a .22 rifle, 9mm pistol, 12 gauge shotgun. If I added a fourth it would be an AR15.

I have done some research on this, not scientific. I will say out of all the guns that I have researched and what 3 guns or 5 guns you need and all of that kind of thing. There are a few brands and models that are mentioned more than not. This is in no order.

1)Ruger 10/22

2)Glock 19

3)This will have a and b. Remington 870 12 gauge pump or Mossberg 500 12 gauge pump. Slightly more votes or recommendations for the Remington 870. but, either choice is generally not considered wrong.

For the record, I only on one of the 3 that you always read about.

Rifle: H&K 417. Power of the 7.62x51 Nato round, reliability of the H&K system, accuracy.

Pistol: Colt Delta Elite 10MM. Compromise between "power" and capacity, accurate, reliable.

Shotgun: AA-12 because I can and it kicks ass with a drum magazine

Handgun: Korth 9mm

Rifle: FN FNC + registered sear

Shotgun: Beretta Diamond Pigeon 12 gauge.

If I can only have one of each, they are going to be something very special.

Not brand specific, but in readily available calibers, I'd pick the following, for simplicity, not relying on magazines, which may not be available, and not being ammo sensitive.
A .357 revolver,
A 12 gauge pump shotgun.
And a centerfire bolt action rifle, probably .308.

Handgun, would have to be for carry. Glock 29, not because I like it so much but because it's light and I can convert it to several different cartridges with just a barrel swap.

Rifle, TC Encore Pro Hunter, because literally hundreds of barrels are available.

Shotgun, I don't have much use. Anything simple and reliable would be fine. I really like the OLD Rem 1100s.

1. AR-15. At least 1 upper in 5.56 and another in either 6.8 SPC or 6.5 Grendel. This could handle home defense, varmint hunting, or medium sized game.

2. 12 gauge shotgun. Either a Remington 870, 1100, or 11-87, or a Mossberg 500. Own the 11-87 and 500, have shot the 870 and 1100. Bird hunting as well as slug-only big game hunting covered and the choices are supported by plenty of after market support.

3. .22LR pistol. Because I feel everyone should have a .22LR. Probably a Ruger Bearcat, Browning Buck Mark, or Ruger Mark series. Small game, pest control, and plinking covered.

Now, if I can have another rifle, Ruger 10-22 and the pistol becomes a 1911-style .40 or .45ACP.

Thankfully, I am not limited to 3 (or 4) in the real world!:D

I'll play.
1. probably my ruger single six with the 22 and the 22 mag cylinder.
2. my mossberg 12 ga pump shotgun with both the long hunting barrel and the short riot barrel.
3. 30/30 Winchester? ak-47? after much thought I pick my car-15 with as many mags as I can carry. it's all tricked out like a swiss army knife with red dot, 3X magnifier, flashlight, laser, bi-pod, sling, bayonet, etc.

S&W Mod-19 (357 Combat Masterpiece - also shoots 38 Special plinker for small game)
Win Model-70 (either pre`64 or post`05 when FN took over -- 30-06)
Win Model-12 (12 gauge)

Considering guns I already own:

GLOCK G26 – not my favorite gun, but very flexible considering size, weight and the ability to take magazines from 10 to 33 rounds.

Colt LE6920MP – lighter weight and more flexible than other options.

Mossberg 590A1 – well it’s a Mossberg 590A1.

I need more than one rifle as I like to hunt large and small game with a rifle. What will work on a deer will turn a squirrel or rabbit inside out.

If I only had one rimfire, it would be a Volquartsen 10/22 magnum.

One center-fire rifle would be a T/C Dimension left handed with all the bolts, barrels, and magazines to shoot 10 different calibers out of it.

One shotgun would be a 12 gauge, I haven't given much thought to the brand or model.

For a handgun, that's another one that I would want both a rimfire and a centerfire. A rim-fire would be a Ruger MKII/III with a SRT arms integral suppressor. Center-fire would have to be something small enough to carry around with me, once I get my hands on one it might be the new Remington R-51 or other easy to carry 9mm.

Thankfully I live in America, in a very free state in terms of gun ownership so I don't need to limit my firearm collection. I would also want my lever guns in .30-30 and .35 Remington because they make excellent hunting rifles. A 20 gauge shotgun and my Henry .22 along with a .357 and .44 magnum revolver.

I could never limit myself to 3 firearms.

From my collection:

Handgun - Sig p226 - A reliable, proven gun that holds 16 rounds of 9mm.

Shotgun - Remington 870 (with both my 28" smooth barrel and the rifled slug barrel) - Hard to bet against an 870 (or Mossberg 500) in terms of reliability and flexibility. Will take everything from rabbits and waterfowl with the smooth bore up to deer and larger animals shooting sabots.

Rifle - AR-15 - I would opt for my PSA 16" carbine. Lightweight, reliable, and perfectly suited for home/self defense in most situations. With the right ammo, it can also be used for hunting medium game if something ever happened to my 870 with the slug barrel (1:7 twist barrel will shoot very heavy .224 bullets well enough to work in a SHTF moment).
