I voted .308, cause thats what I use. I've hunted with the same bunch of guys for over 30 years - since we left school. I use a .308, my mates use .270 & 30/06's. In all these years of hunting I wouldn't say one cartridge has dramatically outperformed the other. Choose whichever cartridge you want in an accurate rifle & learn to shoot it well. Then you will realize that its the person behind the trigger that makes the biggest difference between how these cartridges perform. Sure the .270 is slightly flatter shooting, but realistically shooting any of these cartridges over 300 yards will require knowledge of trajectory for holdover.
