.25 and .32 for penetration

The only personal experience I can add is in the early 7os I owned a 25 auto. I shot a fmj into an Oak tree and it stuck in the bark. I literally picked it lose with my finger. Shortly thereafter I sold it and haven't owned another.

Juxtapose that with the very same test using your current ccw piece and let us know the results.

I currently have a Bersa UC 45 as my EDC gun. Two days ago I was cutting wood with a friend and just on a whim I put 2 rounds of .45acp FMJ (loaded from my range stash in the back of my truck) into an ash. I then put 2 rounds of JHP into the same tree. FMJ penetrated only about 6 inches. JHP penetrated... about 6 inches. NO expansion on the JHP at all but that wasn't a surprise to me. Definitely NO digging it out of the bark with my fingernails.

In any case I think I'll continue to carry a .45acp.

.25 auto, out of a proper diameter barrel, penetrates very well.
Old, worn-out barrels, Lorcins, Ravens, etc. may have low velocity.
