.243 vs 6.5 Creedmoor for Whitetail and General Hunting

I have used the 243 a lot and found it lacking when it comes to exit holes and blood trails.

My .243 exit wounds are the size of a golf ball !!
But I brought the 6.5 just because...

IMO, the 6.5 is ideal as a deer rifle but the 243 is more than adequate for deer. Since recoil is the issue, I would definitely go with the 243. The 6.5's extra power isn't really going to matter but better shot placement due to her being more comfortable with the rifle absolutely will.
