.22LR Ammo Selection

You didn't mention the Remington Golden Bullet. 550 bulk at Wally World. Some people knock it s being dirty and unreliable, but I have not found that to be true recently. I'm about half way through a second 550 box I recently bought, and have had one dud. It shoots the most accurately, and functions flawlessly in my Walther P22. It is the most accurate ammo I have found in my Rough Rider, and although not a handgun, is the most accurate in my Marlin 60 autoloader. I have tried Federal American Eagle, Winchester 333, CCI Mini-Mag, CCI Velocitor, and Agula Super Maximum. The Remingtons have not disappointed me, and don't appear to me to be particularly dirtier than the rest.

For general function I find most CCI ammo works well. In pistols CCI SV and CCI Pistol Match have given me the best results so far. Another round the cycles well is the Federal Auto Match. I find that Federal 550 Bulk and Remington Golden Bullet bulk very quite a bit from lot to lot. Some are good and some are not. Winchester 333 give me nothing but problems.

Each rim fire pistol will need to have several different kind of rounds put through them to find what is the most accurate. You never know until you try something how it will preform.

For general function I try Mini-mags and Federal Auto Match first. So far they work in everything I have. While they may not be the most accurate they seem to be the most reliable.

What ever I have that didn't work well in the pistols gets shot in the revolvers. The revolvers also have rounds they like better then others. They normally will work for plinking purposes with any ammo in my opinion.

Well the only thing that is 100% reliable in my Beretta 21A is CCI Stingers. They are pricey though for .22lr rounds. In my others I use Winchester Wildcats and CCI Blazers by the brick.
