223 load

My preferred general purpose loads that would be my go to for being able to have a whole lot of them, and the components to make more would be: 55 grain bullets. Z-Max, or V-Max being the first of my go to. Next in line is 55 grain FMJBT bulk bullets. Loaded with H335. very good accuracy, and the powder will meter well from a volumetric measure if I do not have power for my electronic dispenser.

Utmost accuracy load is a 68 grain HPBT Hornady. With a load of Alliant Reloader 15. Using a small rifle primer that is suitable. In my bolt action it is a sub half MOA load. From my AR it is a load capable of greater accuracy than I can milk out of iron sights.

Like JeepHammer says, buy milsurp ammo in ammo cans for storage. Plan 'B' would be commercial hunting ammo by the case. You can order anything you want in any quantity you want from your local gun shop. Expect to pay up front for ammo by the case.
And CowTowner's bullets(no FMJ's or match bullets for anything but varmints. And suitable bullets for deer sized game.) by the thousand plus powder(for that load you have already work up) by the keg. Remember you need a cool, dry place for it to live while you wait for the Apocalypse.

I have stored up several thousand of my reloads. They get the necks and primers sealed with clear fingernail polish then get vacuum sealed in 100rd bags and then put in metal ammo cans.
