T thisaway New member Sep 10, 2001 #22 My suggestion is the Savage/Stevens M30 falling-block single shot reincarnation of the old Stevens Favorite rifle. A single-shot will teach your sons to USE the sights, to MAKE their shots count, and to CONSERVE their ammo. I own one of these rifles, and it is a GREAT plinker. Quite accurate with CCI Green Tag ammo. I hope to get a few tree rats this season with it, too!
