My experiences with the 22MAG as a rifle cartridge is limited to Winchester ammo featuring the 40 grain hollow tip bullet. This bullet hits like a little grenade causing much tissue damage. I'm certain that I could topple a deer with this rifle except for that act being illegal in Pennsylvania. I'm not an outlaw.
