.22 LR ammo issue

Prof Young reminded me so a similar experience a few years Back...I was given (during the drought) 1000 rounds of off brand un boxed very dirty and greasy 22LR that I suspect most were Remington

Load a mag worth of the better looking in my MKII and they all functioned but made my pistol very dirty and greasy
Did about same as Prof and managed to plink with 90% of them

so glad I can get 22 about anywhere right now at OK prices... hell my feed store even has a couple of hundred thousand at any given time
 
P-990 ....On the other hand, what you're describing sounds to me like dried up lube and oxidized bullets. They don't fit your chambers any more because they're no longer soft and flexible like they were 15-20 years ago when new.
