In any case, I'd agree that preventing an assailant from pressing an attack is the first priority for a private citizen (as well as an LEO). And that's why Ellifritz' "failure to incapacitate" data is important, and that's why that data shows that a light caliber (.25, .22 or .32) is a poor choice.
