22-250 for Bison

I have only know one person who hunted a buffalo, his account was something like this, " I drove the pick-up into the field, stopped at about 75 yards, got out set up a tripod, & shot a nice cow." he also said,, " there was absolutely no thrill to it, and will never do it again". I may be way off base!!! but this is what he told me & I have no reason to disbelieve him. also he said it was very expensive (out of state) & he hired people to dress out & render the animal. msn

I dropped a water buffalo with one shot from my 22-250 in the early 1980's. The buffalo was quartering away from me & I could place a shot behind its ear at the correct angle. The water buffalo died instantly. Wouldn't recommend the 22-250 as a buffalo round though.
 
I come off almost three days on the highway and find this thread...Almost enough to make a fella drink a couple of sixpacks and play Hank Williams' "Luke The Drifter" album and then happily commit suicide...
