200 yds high precision back-up/trunk/pack rifle

"Quite frankly, you cound have a horribly inaccurate weapon that holds 10 MOA at 200 yards and you'd still be able to nail a human in the chest (the average shoulder width of a huban is about 24 inches!). "
I didn't say a human chest was my target, and it isn't

"What you are asking for is a SBR that has a lot of travel restrictions on it unless you file the proper paper work on it."
For a civilian in the US.

I am fairly knowledgeable about NFA laws.

The desert tactical arms might work if they can do a shorter barrel. It looks like they are 4 shorter than an M4 as is w/ a 22" barrel, so it should be pretty easy for them to cut that down another 6-10" and maybe more.

The XP100 looks like the trigger is far ahead of normal for a remington bolt gun. Is the trigger connected with a long linkage like a bull pup?

My experience with folding stocks is that accuracy is nowhere near 1 MOA. I have looked at the kel-tec before.

Anyone know of a break action coming from the factory with this accuracy or of a place selling them after a little work? I have an Encore frame, but I am not getting and have not heard of others getting that accuracy.

I think I can go shorter, cheaper, and more accurate with a boltgun though.

1. Their 16" barrel bullpup is really quite short.
2. Custom work may run the price higher than Desert Tactical.
3. The factory claims 0.5 MOA with select ammunition.

And, though it looks like an AR, it is a bolt gun. :)

The DTA while not having a barrel shorter than 10 will definitely NAIL sub MOA at 200. (It will prob do sub MOA to 800) Just be sure to check the price as thats for the chassis only

The DTA SRS is a bolt gun, but at over $3,000 it is a bit pricey.

As noted by another, the $3000 for the DTA SRS is for the chassis only...the conversion kit adds another $2000 (roughly) for a total of $5000.

Ouch.

AAC 30 blackout.

Or .223

If you went for 16" i would say LMT MWS.

Saw this on AAC's page.

At 300 meters, 300 BLK has 16.7% more energy than 7.62x39mm. Max effective range, using M4 military standards for hit probability, is 440 meters for a 9 inch barrel, and 460 meters for a 16 inch barrel. 300 BLK from a 9 inch barrel has the same energy at the muzzle as a 14.5 inch barrel M4, and about 5% more energy at 440 meters - even though the barrel is much shorter.

Has better ballistics than the 7.62x39mm, so you have a limit of 200 but a cartridge capable of 300+. Sub-MOA from a SBR barrel. Sounds like a win to me :D

Thoughts

Hell after looking at this you have me wanting to buy a 30blk now lol.
