Cops like keeping their jobs
Well, Ohio isn't on the border. I'm not sure where the nearest ICE station is located in the Midwest, but I've heard of illegal aliens being released because there weren't agents that could get there to take custody in a timely manner (ie before the local LEO got frustrated and let them go).The numbers of illegals are overwhelming because of the slack border policies...
INS wasn't going to show up.... period. They said, point blank, that they weren't interested, and wouldn't take them. Once it's established by any agency that they will not extradite, the persons involved, whether they be illegal aliens or wanted felons, must be released then and there. What was preventing the local LEO from keeping them in his own facility until ICE showed up?
The only frustration by local LEO's is caused by INS completely ignoring the situation. If they say they'll extradite, we'll hold 'em for days if need be. I'd say that qualifies as a "timely manner".I've heard of illegal aliens being released because there weren't agents that could get there to take custody in a timely manner (ie before the local LEO got frustrated and let them go).
We don't have to "reform" our immigration laws. The ones we have now are fine - but we don't obey them
You can't, in all honesty, blame the intruders for coming here..."we must remember that the vast majority of illegal immigrants are decent people who work hard, support their families, practice their faith, and lead responsible lives. They are a part of American life,
