What is "indefensible" about the LAPD (Rampart Division CRASH unit?!?) Az DPS/Border Patrol Joint Task Force (Officer kills fellow Officer when caught stealing Meth from an evidence locker) NYPD (enough said) Chicago PD (You can tell when they're lying because their lips are moving) New Orleans PD (Officers making contract hits and providing security for drug dealers), the list goes on. There is also much corruption within the Clinton administration. We don't have to make criminals of LEOs, they do that all by themselves!

How much money do you think the ATF spent on this investigation in the two years that it went on? Do you know the agent that infiltrated this Motorcycle Club? How do you know that this agent didn't commit any felonies to get into this club so deeply? How do you know this agent didn't stash some extra money away for a rainy retirement day? I don't know that he did, anymore than you know he didn't. I won't let the folks who brought us Ruby Ridge and Waco off the hook too quickly.

I'm still waiting to hear what the federal firearms violations were. The drugs would be a DEA concern and the cash, assuming it was counterfeit and was thus illegal, would be a Secret Service concern. Why did ATF choose to infiltrate this gang? I'm not complaining about felonious bikers being busted but I would like to know what in this case mandated ATF involvement. They are tax collectors after all.

These guys who are all broken up over the Mongols problems would probably wet their pants if a Mongol even looked at them.

There have been some big ATF screw ups the past few years, no doubt. I do personally know some officers who've gone under cover, and those that work the bikers have brass balls. My hat's off...

Tbeck: Anytime you have a felon or felons in possession of a firearms, they can be prosecued through federal judical system. The penalties are much more harsh when prosecuted through federal system compared to state laws. If convicted, the individuals must serve 85% of what ever time they are given for these types of sentences.

The drugs and cash = fall under federal RICO statues. Why the ATF is involved i can't give an answer.

I support any federal agency's efforts, including the BATF's efforts, which impacts hard-core career criminals in America. Outlaw bikers are among the worst our country has to offer, and every effort should be made to curb their violence, drug dealing, and illegal trade in weapons. After all, don't supporters of the Second Amendment constantly state that it is about "crime control," not gun control. Cleaning up biker gangs is the epitome of crime control.
