I can't help myself. I have Glocks, Berettas,HK's, S&W, etc. All mid range less than $1,000.00. So, I'm looking for something real special

Any suggestions?
Isn't AMERICA a great country!

How about a P7M13, Sig 210-6 or custom hi-power in 9; Rock River, Wilson, Baer or one of the fine smiths on these boards for .45. Fred Craig also makes some interesting customs on Caspian frames-no website but he got me a brochure in the mail in 3 days and he answers his own phone. You could also redo one of your Glocks with a Bar Sto or Jarvis barrel, Caspian slide, MMC tritium adjustables and a "hand job".

If you go the rifle route, you could alsmost get a loaded Steyr for 2K, you could get a fully decked out AR-match barrel, good optics, sf Millennium light, etc.

Good luck deciding,
pojim

Go for a Steyr Scout for a rifle.

For a pistol, well if you have many that work well for you, how about a week at Gunsight (orange, that is.)

If you do't have any rifles get one or two good ones.
If you want another pistol get a SIG P210 (the "Rools-Royce" of automatic pistols) and sneer at other less fortuneate shooters at the range.

A custom 1911. Everything you want and nothing more.

or

A custom rifle. Actually, I would get a Wichester M70 Classic and send it to a smith for 300-500 dollars worth of work. You can keep the change.

A nice 1911!!!! Give Steve Clark a shout. he'll build you one SERIOUS 1911. His website is Steve Clark Custom

If you want a rifle, go with a custom AR with a Compass Lake Engineering upper. Get the Kreiger stainless barrel option. Then get a Bushmaster DCM lower. After that, replace the Bushy's trigger with a Jewell trigger. Compass Lake's website is www.compasslake.com

Get a pre-ban sport utility rifle and lots of magazines.

Barring that, get an automag or a true exotic in a rifle caliber like a 6mm/223 on an x-p 100 and try your hand at long range handgunning.

Or maybe a nice antique?

Get a weekend in Reno and take the cash to the craps table. See if you can make it $4,000...

If you've already got SIGs, H&Ks, and the rest, you don't need to spend more than that on a single gun.

Unless it's a Springfield "Bureau Model" 1911...

If you are looking for a rifle check out the Blaser imported by Sig. You should be able to get one with the synthetic stock for $2000. Check out the Blaser Sniper Rifle. If you really want a good 1911 style semi-auto you can check out the guns produced by STI. Save a little more and you can get a Steyr Scout Rifle. For revolvers you can't go wrong with one from Freedom Arms.

Maybe that new Bushmaster that is sitting on the counter at my favorite gun emporium

Any 2 of your favorite Glocks, and enough ammo and accessories to keep you tinkering 'till fall. :-)

One more idea - how about a rare Luger? A Luger you could shoot would be neat, and would be a great heirloom to pass on.

I love it when I have $2000 to blow. It happens every once in a while.

You could spend it wisely on something like ammo to practice or training to get better...but, nahhh, just blow it on a fun toy!

I would get a really nice custom 1911.
An Ed Brown Bobtail comes to mind, or a Brian Bilby custom (www.1911custom.com)

Or, for a rifle I would get a SR-25 "Stoner" from Knight's Manufacturing in Florida. It's a .308 Sport Utility semi auto rifle that can drive 1/2 moa out to any range you want. It is the most accurate production semi auto .308 short of a $10,000 HK PSG-1. Throw the optics of your choice on there and you can make that rifle do anything you want from CQB to super long range. I could not be happier with mine. There is no other rifle that I will really ever need.

My choice.
FN FAL, pre ban specs, 20 mags, 10,000 rounds Malaysian.
And teach a fence sitter to shoot.

I second the FAL purchase.

Then again, if Regis Philbin were to give me a million dollars, I could justify the purchase of a handgun costing $2,000.

If you would like, I could have my father the jeweler inlay one of your Glocks with some diamonds, rubies, saphires whatever. Then and only then would you have a handgun worth it's $2,000 price tag !

Its all about quantity, guys. Jeesh.

I suggest 40 Jennings J-22 ghetto specials. if you buy bulk, you can probably get enough .22 LR ammo to wear out all 40.

Now THAT is a purchase.
