Even though I think they are pretty cool it didn't stop me from pulling the trigger. I have friends who wouldn't shoot one but they aren't against others hunting/trapping them.

Dude you should take me, the fat old guy with the suppressed Blaser running a 108 grain 6.5 slug at 3100 fps. If I can see it its gone to doggie heaven.

Nice dog Wyobo. Gotcherself $350 piece of fur there.

Are they a nusiance animal up there ?

Yes they are a valueable fur resource that are making a nusiance of themselves munching on too many moose and caribou. Especially out in the rural areas. They've pretty much brought the caribou herd out here on the AKPEN to the tipping point to where they may not recover.

Hats, gloves and coats

Don't forget parky hood ruffs. :D

Dude you should take me

We'll prolly be going out again on my next set of days off. I work week & week and today is my first day back to work... As you can see I'm hard at it;)

If you want to go just send me a PM.

Careful wyobohunter!

Wild Alaska can get his shorts in a wad about copyright infringements.

Hate for you to have to take him on an all expense paid wolf hunt.:D:D.

Congrats and Great pic.

Also, some pics of his teeth/canines would show the distruction these puppies are capable of.

Yeah, good point. I'd be out $5-$10 in gas, a thermos of joe and a few sandwiches... We go in style!

Good idea, I'll post some when I get the skull back.

Thanks!

Good lord that thing is massive. Are there any precautions you have to take to hunt wolf? I can only imagine that it would be a dangerous type of hunt. Congrats BTW.

They are big and kinda creepy looking but they very rarely attack humans. A jogger got killed by wolves not long ago in one of the villages. It is rare; they usually run away. They'd be a lot easier to hunt if they'd be a little more aggresive!

She was less than 5' tall and running so she probably looked like food to them. Too bad.
