1st time 1911 owner question

Stainless is not rust proof, but so far, I have had little corrosion problems with rust on my stainless .45s and where I live it is very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer and prone to rain in spring and fall.
My first was a Springfield, one of their early stainless guns.
My second was a Colt 1991A! bought used for $410. I think the 1991a1 is a great buy and if you look around you can find used ones that offer good value for the money.

I like the old mil-spec 1911a1's. I've even been known to play with a re-blued 1911(pre-a1). if its a Colt, that means a series 70 or older. I'm not afraid to buy a used gun. The new Colts are nice too, if a bit pricier.

Springfield made a super mil-spec 1911.

I don't personally like the "melted" look of the Kimbers, but thats just an opinion.

Kimber

Here is a picture of my first 1911. I shot several 1911 and choose the Kimber Custom Eclipes II, I really liked the look, and the trigger is smooth as silk and breaks light, its accurate, tough, and as I said has a classic look.
