1K for an AK worth it?

I realize that MA has special issues, but no. I just could not spend that kind of cash on an AK. I would live without it.

I have two clones, a "nice" Hungarian 762 and a Romanian 545. I like them both very much. Neither is worth 1k. to me.

In the end though, the choice is yours.

If then receiver is milled, It could easily be worth that kind of money. However it would be steep for a stamped receiver.

Dude- I've spent the last week studying AK's- which to buy, why, etc. The SAR 1's are worth that amount, especially with the ammo and mags!!

-Milled receiver- the biggest reason. Is my $450 WASR gonna get the job done? Sure it will, but the SAR's are better quality, plain and simple, and that's what you're paying for.

My stamped receiver SAR-1 must be very rare!
Pr3d, that's a very high price in a state where the 2nd Amendment is respected.

SAR1's dont have a stamped receiver, not milled. Fact is, the WASR is really basically just a slightly modified SAR. They were the import "get around" when the SAR's were "banned", and are brought into the country as a 10 rounder using a proprietary mag. They are then "converted" here, by opening up the mag well, to take a standard AK mag. The main noticeable difference is the lack of "dimples" on the WASR.

My WASR is one of the early ones, that looks like a SAR. It just shows slightly better finish, no canted sights, and no trigger slap. Other than that, they are the same gun.

Ak103,

So my SAR-1 doesn't have a milled receiver, but it, according to your above statement, also, doesn't have a stamped receiver. Hmmm, I know it's not cast or polymer, reckon WHAT it is?

Sorry, things got messed up in a retype. :)

What I was trying to say was, the SAR "has" a stamped receiver, not milled.
