Primary:

Off the shelf I guess a FN Hi-Power, S&W M39, or a Colt LW Commander.

If I could swing it an ASP. Maybe a P-1 with a shortened barrel.

Secondary:

Wather PPK

Tertiary:

Beretta Jetfire 950

I had no problem with what I did (and still might) carry - a stellar S&W M&P (10) .38, but also in the "would" department:
- Colt Detective Special--3rd
- Colt LW or Combat Commander
- Walther PP - lesser known progenitor of the ubiquitous "K" or K/S," a little more barrel length with full grip in .380 --as BUG.
- Browning BHP

Let's see, back in the 70's I was in my twentys, and living in So. Cal. at the time.
I carryed a single shot 44 cal. black powder derringer on my belt in a Buck knife case.
Young and dumb! lol

Born in '51, so carrying a legal pistol wasnt an issue until 1970. In the event I carried a couple .22's/.22mag and a Ruger Old Army. Yes, big and bad and I was "known" for it. When I got a security job I got hold of a Victory Model M&P in .38. Just carryin the thing embarrassed me so I got a Colt Python.. Then I was introduced to the Colt Combat Commander and the rest is history, along with a BHP. Forgot, I also got a S&W model 39 9mm before the Commander. The dealer I traded it to could hardly stop drooling and rubbin his hands together...

Mr. Sharpdressed Man, the photo you posted supports your forum name very well. I also appreciate the fact that the handguns have obviously been carried and used. The S&W must be rare.
