1911 revival

I would like to see a high quality .45 pistol similar to the 1911 but with all the old flaws corrected.

Yes, how similar and what flaws? I can think of two extremes. Or three.

1. A Cooper 1911 with "sights you can see, a trigger you can control, and the removal of sharp edges that make it unpleasant to hold." My taste. "Removal of sharp edges" does comprise a beavertail grip safety.

2. A high quality single stack, single action pistol, easier to dismount than what was thought a cavalry private could handle. Therefore probably not a swinging link lockup and lacking a grip safety. Sounds like a tool steel Super Star. Or a SIG P210A.

3. H&K USP Expert.

the only flaw I have with the 1911 are their pricetags... they sure want a pretty penny for something thats over a 100yrs old design.

You think the tooling should be paid-off, by now? :D
It's expensive because the design is 100 years old. You know, real metal and wood.

I really like the triggers and feel of the grips of the 1911s. More fun to shoot at the range than a number of Glocks I have. But I'm much more likely to carry a G 43 or 26 than the 1911 due to size, weight and that I haven't practiced enough that I'm confident I will remember to take the safety off in a crisis. But one that is accurate and has a good trigger, feeds and shoots without "issues" is a joy!

Looked at a LLama, it is a filipino pistol. Same as the Rock Island, just different safety, sights, trigger, trim. The Llama was very tight, the trigger was not as good as my Rock Island. No doubt same manufacturer, different brand name.

The double stack models are too big for my hands and if they are like my Beretta, painful to load the magazine. I had to buy a LULU for the M92.
Not the same manufacturer, and the llama is not exactly a 1911; the resemblance is on the surface only.

Try fitting real 1911 parts to it and you'll quickly discover how different they are.
