1911 MEU commercial version

MEU(SOC) Pistol

Hi Guys,
Sorry for the delay, but i've been a tad busy.

I believe that the MEU(SOC) is the absolutely best pistol for the Force Reconnaissance Marines for a lot of reasons. The biggest problem is the fact that it is built by 2112's and has a lot of handfitting. There are precious few of these (both guns and armorers) and when a gun goes down it is lost to the system for a long time.
Ergo, the Marine Corps is wising up and bringing online a Product Improved MEU(SOC) Pistol, that will be basically similar, but with less hand fitting, and also increasing the number available.
Unfortunately there will probably still not be enough to supply all with a training set and a go to war set.

A few points.

The RTE shop has been the Precision Weapons Shop (PWS) for several years now.
The MEU(SOC) pistol has never had Hogue Grip panels or adjustable sights.
There is no "D" in my name.
A number of the Marines/Sailors have Kimbers to train with- off duty. They are required to use issue weapons while on Marine Corps time.
I believe that the Kimber/ new Colt 1991A1 and SA Loaded are attractive alternatives to a hand fitted pistol. (I certainly don't mind spending money for quality, but i cringe at how much some guns cost, and how much fluff is included. Conversly, as my Father often said, "Buy cheap, buy twice" (He also told me on the occasion of my 40th birthday "Lower your standards and double your efforts").
I haven't seen the Chandler copies, but i understand the quality is superb.
I have several Kimbers, and have found them to be reliable pistols. One has about 5K through it with no problems, though that is not enough to draw any serious conclusions.
We had a SA feeb and TRP model, ran 3K through each, and had 3 malfunctions between them that were failures to feed (i think...)
From observations at other places, they (the above mentioned 3 pistols) all look very good, but few civilians keep gunbooks so the estimated round count is at best an inflated guess.

As for me fogetting more than yadayada...
Well, i have to get up at 0400 inorder to catch (another) plane, and i forgot where i put my car keys.

Sigh...
