SIGSHR, how's that Ciener unit work on your Hi Power? I use his units on both a Colt Combat Commander and another on a Gold Cup as well as two Rugers of the same size with great accuracy and reliability.
OP, Ciener, Marvel, Advantage Arms units work on any of my .45 cal. 1911's but not the 9mm Series 70 Colt Gov't Model. Accuracy is outstanding on all of them including a WWll Remington-Rand. I also have a Colt made 'sliding chamber' Ace upper that will work on the Colt Gold Cup only. The others are a far better buy for the money and have given me nearly NRA Bullseye competition accuracy. Given a choice, I like the Marvel best for it's solid lock up as well as the accuracy with adj. sights.
With any of them, you've got to keep the breach face and chamber clean to get good reliability. I clean mine off every 50 round box or so and have good success. Hi-speed .22's, especially CCI Mini-Mags work the best. HP bullets, depending on manuf., might or might not feed well.
