Thanks guys. As I mentioned, the Kimber wound up being the winner. Who could argue with this? (not my photo, thanks to the TFL poster who took the shot)

I think you will hear a lot more complaints about Kimbers than other makers becuase Kimber owners expect a lot more (perfection) from their pistol. Also, every year Kimber has sold more 1911 pistols than anyone one else for past 3 or 4 years. Actually I think they sells more Kimbers than all other 1911 pistol makers combined for past few years.
