16in lever gun in .357?

Marlin has periodically build lever actions in what they call a trapper with 16 1/2" inch barrel. I've got them in .357 (1984), 45 Colt (1894) and 30-30 (336.) What I've also done is gone to Numrich at http://www.e-gunparts.com/forum/forums.asp and ordered the shorter barrels, magazine and forearm.

I've also sent rifles to Marlin and had them reconfigure/ rebarrel them to a different barrel. There's also a Marlin forum at http://www.marlinowners.com/forums/index.php
Good luck

One like this limited edition?

a 16" levergun is usually labeled a "trapper" I know marlin and Winchester both use this to describe their 16"s though neither makes one right now, but the should.

currently puma is the only one I know of that makes any lever action with a 16" barrel and yes the have a .357mag

Hey guys thanks for all the responses, that stainless special edition is exactly what I am looking for, that mares leg is pretty gorgeous as well but $1300 yeah not so much.

Keep them coming if you got em guys, also how much was that special edition if you dont mind me asking.

This is a few of the Marlins that I have. The bottom rifle is a 1894 trapper in 45 Colt. My .357 trapper looks the same.

I live in a Town thats name means "Hospitality" in a foreign language. I am very tempted to start a firearms company that would produce a Savage 99 stainless in 308 and a 1894 Stainless Marlin 1984 .357 stainless under the brand "Hospitality Firearms". Different barrel lengths with a solid synthetic stock. You could get a wood one custom from a third party if you like. Maybe available with out a stock also. These would be the only two rifles offered to start getting the design of these worked out could be very interesting in and of itself.
I see these two firearms as holes in the firearms supply market, maybe no one thinks like I do though.

John, man that is a fine idea.....where can I invest lol!? Personally I want a stainless 16 with synthetic furniture to match my Ruger well mine soon enough ha.

I wouldnt mind a 16 in gun in a higher caliber but I want to get a single action revolver in an accompanying caliber and personally shooting 45LC or 44 mag doesnt sound like fun to me. Just not as much fun to spend all day shooting to me.

Gah, anyone know what a quality smith runs for cutting down barrels and magazine tubes?

There are a few around....

I bought one of the limited addition stainless .357's a couple of years ago for about $600.... I wouldn't part with it. Nice reliable short range plinker and beautiful also!!! I just wish I would have had the money to get the .44 version too now that I have my Redhawk!!! rc

I too would love a nice .357 levergun. But why are they so darn expensive!?

Is it simply because they've been discontinued?

OK, slap me with an old smelly herring. Why the hell did I not ever know about the SS357LTD??

I've had my 1894C for well over 25 years now and would love to have a SS 357 with either the laminate or a nice synthetic stock.

I have a Marlin 1894C which is my defense, plinker and general carry gun. I am taking the scope off and putting a Williams peep with a firesight insert in the front. I really hope to pick up another one this year. If I am lucky I may get to paste a javalina with it this year. While they are not for everyone, I consider them perfect for "special" people, just like me...:D

savagemoa I don't know about nice but I got one of the Puma .357s for about $130 with a cracked butt stock. It definitely was not expensive but also not short barreled.
