147gr 9mm

It was years since I researched the 9mm before I bought one.

I think the 147g, Mr Ruger himself used to shoot out of the Ruger, but found the 124g or maybe even the 115g to work the best. Numbers may not be exacted eg 115 could be 117g.......

Reloader Bill

One of the firearms instructors at the FBI Academy in Quantico (Bill Vandenpool) whom I met on a few occasions, found 147g 9mm bullets on a range, actually loaded cartridges, left behind by SF Troops, that had been shooting Silenced H&K MP 5s, he was told they were being used to kill guard dogs.

Bill pulled them apart, and made up loads for his .38 Special Mod 13 S&W, these 147g loads he found to be accurate (despite the difference in the barrel diameter 356X357) this took place after the end of the War in South East Asia.

The Black Talon load of yesteryear, one round fired through my Glock 26, at a an Instructor seminar, attained a velocity of 1004fps, and expanded well, I do not remember the size, the velocity I did retain.

Having said all that, 127g +P+ Ranger T is my load of choice.

147's expand more reliably while the 115's and 124's penetrate more deeply

I think you may want to do more research on this.

As Dave85 pointed out, I was comparing older and newer loadings rather than lighter to heavier ones. I should have been more clear.
