115 vs 124 grain 9mm ammo

My M&P Pro shoots 124 grain with just slightly tighter groups. However, unless its for competition, or defense, general plinking-115 has always been fine. I too don't notice an appreciable difference recoil wise on commercial rounds.

Except for shooting closer to point of aim on a fixed-sight pistol, I can think of none. Perhaps the 124(ish) grain projectiles will more likely through-and-through penetrate a torso, but that's also dependent on a host of other factors.

IMO 115 gr. is usually the cheapest loose bulk packed like WWB. Fine for range and is most sensitive to limp-wristing, makes for good practice. 124 gr. like Geco/RWS, Win. NATO when reliability is needed.

Allegedly older European pistols were designed for 124g and swallow it better.

Frankly my Walther P1 and BHP and quite happy firing 115g all day long.

I load everything from 90g to 147g load ranging from target to +P and +P+. My CZ 75B enjoys everything I feed it. I try to load velocity's that mimic that of the SD ammo I use. HST and Gold Dot 124g +P's.
