10mm S&W autos?

The 1076 is a very good gun.
Some of the surplus guns have not recieved the S&W decocker fix and you should email S&W customer service with your serial# to ensure your decocker was upgraded.

My Wood gripped 1076 tips the scales at 43oz.

Someone else mentioned that the DE is only good for 1000rds.

While three of my first generation DE did suffer frame cracks above the link pin hole they were easily repaired by and the lowest round count this occured was just over 7,000 rds of Norma ammo in 1989.

I carry my 1076 in an Alessi IWB and have absolutely no complaints as it very flat and very easy to carry.

FWIW,
I have had great success with the Pro Load 155gr GD 10mm full power loads on white tail deer, the last one going 135lbs or so and it went down quickly with an audible thump, the expanded bullet measured just over .90".

I have read somewhere that the Colt Delta Elite turned out to
be good for only about 1000 rounds

Whoever wrote what you read was either incredibly ignorant or a bald-faced liar. Here is an anecdote for you: Richard Heinie has one that he put 25,000+ rounds and counting through without ANY visible "battering." Of course, an appropriate (read: other-than-factory Colt) recoil setup would be wise.
