Interesting that in 1909 an experienced source stated "It was not safe to carry a six-shooter fully loaded, so the hammer was set on an empty chamber or an exploded shell." I have read a number of gunboard debates defending the quarter cock "safety notch" even today, assuming it standard practice in the frontier era.

And how many experts do we read on the subject of "point shooting" even today?

That could be a hacked openx install. I'm not seeing any resources with that IP loading for that page, so maybe they've noticed the 3rd party malware vector and shut it down already. In any case, you can reduce your risk by making sure your browser is up to date, java is up to date (jre 7u40), and strongly consider disabling the java browser plugin if it's not already (there's very little chance that you need it enabled).
