#1 buckshot loads using a full choke

Anyway I shot some 000 buck(federal 2 3/4's) this morning when the sun got up, thank goodness walmart was open. It patterned good up to 30 yards in a 20 inch box. Do alot of you men target/pattern buckshot for fun like me?

Everyone needs to pattern the shell thru the gun they intend to hunt with. No sense goin' out there and not bein' able to hit the broad side of a barn while standing inside it...

If it is recoil you mean... One reason I never bought into the UBER AWESOME 3 1/2's or .300 win mag or other heavy hitters is I thought it was silly of me to spend that kind of loot on ammo and practice with it and get banged around doin' it... If I wanted that, I would find it far more fun to out to a bar, drink $50 bucks worth of fine hills made bourbon and go lip off to the biggest bugger in the joint... Same results...:o:D

In my younger days one of my biker buddies had a gal that loved to shoot my dads legal length sawed off single shot... Most of the guys would quit after one shot and she wanted to shoot it again and often. When asked she said... "I LOVE THE WAY IT KICKS"... So the next time they came over, I had 4 boxes of clearance shelf 3 inch HOT (for the times anyway) TURKEY LOADS!!! I said "Dear, these are for you, they will kick like a mule, shoot as many or as few as you want.
A little later, as I was off shooting elsewhere, she walks up and asked if I had any more in the house 'cuz she ran out:eek: This 90 or so pound gal had run out of an ammo I wouldn't care to shoot more than a magload of in a 8-10 pound gun and that sawed off was far less than 8.

I'm a little guy myself 140 lbs and both my H&R's kick like mule driven tractor lol. I messed up buying a medium size slip-on limbsaver and it slips to the side alot on recoil, a small would have been ideal.;)

In this case:

"When I shoot the #1 buck at 30-40 yards it throws the buckshot in the outer perimeter of the target(full chokes), maybe one or two pellets are seen 6-8 in. of the center."

You are describing a classic "doughnut" pattern that results from too much choke for the specific load. Inexpensive single shot fixed choke shotguns have an outside swaged taper choke that does vary from gun to gun. Since you cannot change chokes, you will have to fit the load to your choke. That is try several different loads until you find one that patterns to your satisfaction.

Since you like #1B, you may want to try the 2.75" 16 pellet load from Winchester. Lighter weight buckshot loads tend to respond better to short funnel type choke constriction.

The both lengths of 12 gauge #1B loads are the only hunting buckshot in the Winchester line that are both buffered and loaded in a protective shot cup.
