'08?

Maybe

I dunno, how about Hil. and McCain? Don't know of any Repl. superstars to run but Mc. was a runner up. BTW if you are Repl., looks like Halloween came a few days late this year:eek: Note: Just guesses, not preferences.

It wouldnt surprise me if newly re-elected Texas governor Slick Rick Perry throws his hat in the race. He wouldnt stand a chance though, and sure wouldnt get my vote.

'08

As, was stated on another forum I visit, its time for the ones who have KNOWN we were doing everything wrong to put up or shut up.Let's see how they do at making everything wonderful

08?

I'm trying to get a list of the Libertarian Candidates that won an office today???

Also: Just a WAG....But Kinda looks like Gingrich is being groomed on certain TV stations as a Dark Horse for 08.????

McCain is it. He didn't even vote for the 94 AWB. I don't like his "saturday night special" nonsense, but he will be the only choice in 08'. Hillary, his opponent, will openly support new restrictions and do more than pay lip service the Assault Weapons.

If I run will you guys vote for me? I don't like any of the choices, but believe voting third party is a wasted vote. It's always a lesser of 2 evils. I don't completly dislike Guliani, and I'm not a big fan of John McKennedy.

Guilani is flat-out anti-gun. Voting for him is no different than voting for Hillary on RKBA. Only if the choice is that bad will I go ahead and vote Libertarian. I'm no purist, and am willing to vote the lesser of two evils, but between those two--yuck.

Then your vote is for Hillary. I assume you didn't vote for Bush, Dole, Bush or Reagan.

Greg - I've been voting Republican since Nixon first ran. Can you say the same? I kept that voting pattern up until the current Bush went for his 2nd term, I'd seen enough in his first term to know that I wouldn't help him get another one. I voted Libertarian in 2004.
Lastly, the reason it's MY vote - and not your vote - is I get to cast it for - the person I want. If - as you say - it helps get someone else elected, so be it. At least I can sleep at night knowing I voted the way I wanted to.

You know we are not going to get anywhere until we get rid of this two party attitude. They certainly won't win if no one votes for them. Look at Jessie Ventura. Was he a wasted vote? I don't think so. Had the media not pissed him off he would have ran for second term and won. If your voting for the lesser of two evils your still voting for evil. A vote for third party is not a vote for the dems. Or maybe I misread the ballot. Like it or not were going to start seeing alot more Independant canidates. As people get more and more fed up with the GOP and the DFL. Now it ain't going to happen over night but neither did the GOP. The winds are changing. As new voters age into the system this causes more change. The next generation (speaking as one) although influenced to a degree by the one before will set it's own course.

Now as far as I'm concerned I would not worry too much about a DFL president at this. The Dems will screw up (mark my words) and offend the the conservative vote. Thus resulting in their loss. Also now that the DFL has congress ANYTHING that happens, good or bad, will be blamed on them. The way it's looking that something will be gridlock. The swing votes will get tired of it by 08 and vote the GOP back in.

This is a two-party system. Third parties go no where. The successful ones are personality driven (Perot, Nader, Ventura). Once the personality goes away, so does the party.

We'll see

We tried the so called conservatives, now the socialists, maybe we will be ready for the Independents when the Dems are through with us. Are they going to repeal the Patriot acts, Detainee bill, The insurrection act or just add to it? Nobody talked about the real issues, again. Mud or less mud. Back to the football games.:barf:

I think third parties largely exist to vent frustration. Only the Libertarians and the Greens have a consistent philosophy, and neither is likely to appeal to the larger populace. And frankly, the real magic of third parties is that they can be puritanical. It is easy to be perfect and tell the true believers what they want to hear when you know you will never be in power.
