Anyone know anything about these rifles?

I tried to get their SR over a year or two ago, even had the order placed. Then the BATF ruled that their thumbhole grip was unacceptable, which made their folding stock a no-go as well.
They were going to make some modifications that would have made the rifle passable, but I haven't heard anything in a while.
I was wondering if anyone had actually handled and fired one and what they might have thought about it.
 
but a non leo should be able to mount the upper...

no one on the AR list has mentioned shooting one

Actually, they had 2 models. The ML was military/LEO, the SR was a "sporting rifle". Except for the folding stock, the SR was otherwise "legal" for civilians in other respects. They (ZM) tried to float a pretty liberal interpretation of a thumbhole stock which, if accepted by the BATF, would have allowed the folding stock in one of those weird cosmetic feature trade-offs that we've come to find ourselves in when we're dealing with AR's.
The BATF wouldn't buy it and ZM was supposedly going to modify the SR to have a fixed stock.
