Important Discovery. The Zastava M83/93 revolver factory hammer spring is the same outside diameter and the same spring wire diameter as a 1911 hammer spring with one less winding. This is compared to a Wolff 20 pound hammer spring that I installed in the Zastava. . It reduced the tension more than 10%. .38 and .357 primers fire double action with no problems so far. It is still a heavy trigger pull but much better than it was. Solid firing pin hit marks. I'm next going to try a 18 pound spring in it. Tom G.

Zastava M83/93 Hammer Spring

I went 2 pounds lighter and installed a Wolff 18 pound 1911 hammer spring in the Zastava. Works great so far. Wolff makes them down to 15 pounds. I'd sure be interested to know if anybody else is trying this experiment and what are the results? Tom G.

Zastava M83 with 15 pound hammer spring.

In two Zastava M83/93's, Now using a Wolff 1911 15 pound hammer spring and it's working.

Any update on performance with new spring? Has the 15# spring worked long term? Just got an M83 and want to lighten up the trigger pull.... Ordered a S&W K/L grip today too, well see if she'll fit as well as I'm hoping.

Thanks for any info you can provide!
