The Zastava M57s are coming to market below $250 several places and I've had mine for a while so I figured I'd write up a review for those considering one...

Pros:
-It's been 100% reliable so far
-Newly built guns; not surplus
-Price
-M57 Tok variants have 9x round mags vs the standard 8 rounders (comes with 2 mags)
-Think profile for those who plan on carrying it
-CHF barrel
-Drift adjustable sights
-Actually has a functional safety as opposed to the original versions
-The round can defeat light body armor

Cons:
-Tooling marks
-Round is still relatively expensive
-Over-penetration can be an issue

Here's my full review of the pistol as well as a comparison with the original M57:

To have an M57 MANDATES the Tok round!:D

It is a fun gun! I really like the idea of the fire control module as a unit instrad of a series of pieces/parts.

The Tok round used to be fun, when it was cheaper than .357 SIG.

Now it isn't.

My Zastava M70A is this same gun, but in the millimeter of the nine. It shoots good, and I snagged it NIB for $200. Very good little blaster for the mula mula. Right now, it's swimming in oil sitting in a public storage building... I need to go grab that little feller and clean him off, and go shoot the cotton pickin' thing.

Certainly true in the USA but in Canada and some Euro countries it's still dirt cheap. Damn import laws!

:p. :p. :p

The Zastava is fun regardless of caliber. I am just a sucker for the whole ComBloc pistol experience. That includes finding ammo, cursing the price, agonizing over corrosive primers...

I've seen 7.62X25 for 'bout $17/box if bought in bulk.

There's hollow-points for the round. Penetration is a bit over the so-called 12" gel minimum, though that is still shallow for me, personally. What I'd like to see is a soft point in this caliber.

I also have one in 9mm, I still havent taken it out to shoot it yet but it does seem well built. I cant wait to take it out for a test run. The only problem I have is I want more mags but it takes the ones with the spacer attached to the back of them and I cant seem to find any.
