Zastava M-85 pistol

Okay, I really had no need for it, and I couldn't justify the purchase in any way, but I ended up buying one of the AK pistols in .223. I waited for a few days before I bought it, trying to come up with all of the reasons not to, and ended up buying the thing anyway. This is one with the magwell adapter and fake Krink on it. It appears to be extremely well put together and finished(It is an AK, you have to remember). There were a few minor things concerning the gun that I have already remedied. I applied Dutch oil to the handguards to help protect the wood and added a Magpul sling loop on the trunnion. Haven't even fired the thing yet. Maybe tomorrow, if the weather is half decent. All the reviews about them have been good. Has anyone else out there been bitten by the M-85 bug, and how do you like it?

Never fired the M85, but I have fired the M92 (7.62 version) and liked it very much. Granted I do like AK and AR pistols, and also previously owned a Draco AK pistol that I sorely regret getting rid of.

You have the M85 that takes standard AR15 mags? From inspection and handling a few at local shops and gun shows, I think they are great little AK's, which give you many advantages of the AK platform, while being able to use readily available 223 ammo.

Congrats and let us know how yours shoots!

I took the pistol out and shot it yesterday. It was extremely easy to shoot. There was absolutely no felt recoil. I was shooting using a single point sling to brace it. I only got to shoot maybe thirty rounds. From 30 yds. I made five head shots on the silhouette rather rapidly. I have a feeling this gun is pretty accurate. I did have one FTE, but I think the gun just needs a little break in . This AK is a lot tighter than any other I've ever shot. It was a lot of fun. There may be an SBR in the future.
