yugo bayo wont unscrew

My 59/66 also would not unscrew.
But since I was going to throw it away anyway I just drilled it out.
Both my Yugo 59s unscrewed with no problem

I am going to mount a bi-pod on the lug after it's gone, so if drilling will still allow me to do that, then what would I need to do?

Just take a drill bit slightly smaller than the shank of the screw and use it to basically grind enough metal away so that the bayo falls out

It shouldn't take long, there is only about a 1/4 inch or so metal on each side and the screw did not feel to be hardened.

I used a small bit to form a divot as a pilot hole to prevent the bit from going off to the side and getting into the metal of the bayo mount.

Slow and steady until you get past the point where the bit can veer off course

I believe it took about 10 or fifteen minutes with a cheap china bit

Some have pins some don't ,mine didn't

If there is a pin you have to drill the flared end and then punch it out.

Some screws are staked, in that case only drilling or an impact driver is going to break it free.

If you have no plans to reuse the bayo just drill it and wrest it free.

I went one step further and removed the whole sight block/bayo lug assembly.
It would have been much easier doing that in the first place instead of removing each component separately
