Yugo 8mm Mausers

It appears that there are two models of Yugoslavian Mausers on the market. Both appear to be mostly un-issued and have matching serial numbers. I handled a M24/47 at Big 5 and was impressed with the rifle for the price. I've seen a Yugo M48 advertised in Shotgun News for similar prices.
There's also an M48a?
Anyone know the difference?

I personally don't know the difference between the two, but i did pick up an M-48 from Aim for $190.00 in hand and that bad boy is "brand new".
