I was looking at the Smith and Wesson website and came across the M&P9L Pro Series C.O.R.E. Does anyone have any experience with it? Thanks.

I was finally able to get some trigger time behind a friends pro (not CORE) Tuesday evening. Nice and smooth shooter, easy to be accurate with from shot one. I looked at the COREs several months ago, the sights look goofy from the side but fine from the shooters standpoint. Throw on an optic and you should have a fine pistol assuming the various mounts are drilled right and tighten properly.

Yes, I have some experience with one, having picked it up at the beginning of the year. It is fast becoming one of my favorites at the range. I've got about 2,000 down the pipe so far without a failure of any kind.

I have ordered an Apex trigger and trigger kit for it for no particular reason. The initial grittiness of the trigger worked itself out after a few hundred rounds.

To me it's the usual M&P - great ergonomics with a nasty, gritty trigger. The gun wants to be accurate and easy to shoot well but that trigger............
A buddy got his before I jumped so I have been able to experience one without the regret. I know that a trigger kit can cure the thing but that's more money to be spent.

My pro had the gritty trigger, but not the nasty one. The gritty as I stated above worked itself out in no time. It's quite a pleasant trigger now and wasn't bad then, improving to good quickly. I'm still going to install the Apex when it arrives for no particular need or reason other than because I can.

I did a write up quite some time ago about a minor bit or grit you can feel on if you have a pro. It's caused by a just slightly rough edge on the trigger bar nub that depresses the striker safety block.

Take your gun apart and check that out. It's the rear side, running at about a 45 degree angle. without changing the angle of that ramp, hit it with a polishing stone enough to perfectly smooth out that edge... and your trigger will be excellent. ;)

I've got a core40L the silencer tallboy sights are meh... Just there to co-witness a red dot or for backup. I just can't afford an optic for it yet. I've shot the pro40L (non-core) and I really like the stock sights on that.
